Lauren Bender is a private art advisor, independent curator and founder of Lauren Levin Bender Fine Art Advisory, LLC. For over two decades, Lauren has been working in the New York art world, guiding clients in the formation, acquisition, deaccession and management of modern and contemporary collections. With a comprehensive knowledge of both the primary and secondary art markets, Lauren serves a range of clients, from the novice to the most seasoned collector.

Lauren received a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from Emory University and a Master of Arts in Modern Art and Critical Theory from Columbia University. Beginning her professional career as an assistant at the blue-chip James Goodman Gallery, Lauren continued as an associate at the Terry Dintenfass Gallery during her graduate studies.

Prior to starting her fine art advisory business in 2006, she was the gallery associate for the private dealers Martha Parrish and James Reinish, specialists in American Modernism. At Parrish & Reinish, Lauren worked alongside the two principals in the research, acquisition and sale of important 19th and 20th century works of art.

In addition to advising, Lauren has served as curator of The Collectors Fund, a multi-million dollar art investment fund specializing in modern and contemporary art, since its inception in 2007. She also conducts bespoke tours of galleries, art fairs and auction houses for private clients.

Lauren serves on the boards of the Committee for Historic Preservation in Scarsdale, NY and the Friends of the Scarsdale Library, and is a Trustee of Westchester Reform Temple, the largest congregation in Westchester County.
